Cor do ano!

A Pantone foi criada inicialmente para sistematizar e simplificar o armazenamento de pigmentos e produção de tintas, mas hoje em dia é conhecida mundialmente pelo seu sistema standartizado de definição de cor, que é amplamente utilizado para os mais diversos sectores económicos.

Eu estou a contar-vos isto para perceberem que a Pantone é de facto um marco no sistema de cores! E todos os anos a Pantone elege uma cor como a cor do ano.

O que acontece é que a Pantone já elegeu a cor do ano para 2013!

E a cor do ano vaaaaaiiiii paaaraaaaa.... (rufar de tambores)

The Pantone company was initially created to systematize and simplify the company's stock of pigments and production of colored inks, but today is worldwide known  for its Color Matching System , which is widely used for various economic sectors. I'm telling you this for to you realize that Pantone is indeed a milestone in the color system!
What happens is that Pantone has chosen the color of the year for 2013!
And the color of the year iiiiiiiiissssss.... (drum roll)
EMERALD!!!!!
I like it ... a LOT!!  ;))

Já estavam a estranhar a ausência de trabalhos em madeira, não é?

O que se passou foi que o trabalho que vos vou mostrar requereu algum (muito) trabalho e depois tivemos as festas pelo meio, e ninguém se consegue dobrar com o bandulho cheio de filhoses e bolo rei!! Eu pelo menos não consigo!  ;)

Trata-se da recuperação de uma mesa de carpinteiro. Ou seja, o dono original era alguém que percebia de madeira à séria. Portanto para mim, que só percebo de madeira a brincar, é uma grande responsabilidade.

Sr. Hernâni, se por acaso estiver a ver isto, fique a saber que a sua mesa já está pronta, mas eu já telefono! :)

Were you missing some woodwork?
What happened was that the work that I'm showing required some (a lot) work and then we had the holidays in between, and no one can bend with the stomach full! At least, I can't!  ;)
This is the recovery of a carpenter's worktable. That is, the original owner was someone who really know how to work wood. So for me, that only play with wood, was a big responsibility.
Mr. Hernani, if you happen to see this, your table is ready, but I'll call! :)

A cor verde foi um requisito do cliente.

The color was required by the client.

O topo da mesa deixei ficar em cru, com algumas imperfeições ainda a notarem-se. Afinal trata-se de uma mesa de trabalho, se ficasse toda lisinha perdia a sua personalidade.

I let the table's top in raw wood with some imperfections still noticing. After all it is a worktable, it needs to keep its personality.

Paletes!

Quando pensamos em paletes, pensamos nas estruturas de madeira utilizadas no transporte de cargas e mercadorias, certo?

Errado! A verdade é que as paletes podem ser usadas em muitos elementos decorativos.

Hoje vou mostrar como as paletes podem ser utilizadas como mesas de apoio! Desde mesas mais cruas, a pintadas ou envernizadas, com tampo de vidro ou normal, pode-se fazer de tudo um pouco conforme o gosto do freguês!

Eu por mim devo dizer que ADORO estas idéias e estou desejosa de colocar as minhas mãozinhas numa palete!!

Wrong! The truth is that the pallets can be used in many decorative elements.
Today I will show how the pallets can be used as tables! Simple wood tables, painted or varnished, with glass on top or not, you can do a little of everything according your taste!
For me, I must say that I LOVE these ideas and I'm willing to put my hands on a pallet!

Já me estou a passar com o blogger!!

Irra, que já há dois dias que o blogger não me deixa postar imagens.
E eu que tenho umas coisas tão giras para mostrar! Que nervos!
O blogger decidiu começar o ano a implicar só comigo, ou há mais vitimas por aí?

Christmas Body count - Final

Hoje é dia de Reis e como tal é dia de arrumar a árvore de natal e afins. Este ano a contagem final dos danos ficou em:
- Bola de natal - 3
- Estrela - 2
- Pai Natal -2

Graças à super cola3 conseguiu-se recuperar os dois pais natal (um deles com múltiplas fracturas, coitado!) e uma estrela, por isso até que acho que correu muito bem e o saldo é muito positivo.
Daqui a um ano há mais.

Today is Three Kings Day and as such is the day to pack up the Christmas tree and the like. This year, the final  christmas body count is:
- Christmas ball - 3
- Star - 2
- Santa - 2
Thanks to super cola3 we managed to recover the two santas (one with multiple fractures, poor guy!) and a star, so I think it went very well and the balance is very positive.

12h... está bem, está!!

Não sei se já repararam no anúncio das fraldas Dodot. Eu chamo-vos a atenção para o facto de a voz off prometer que "duram até 12 horas"! Eu ontem fui ao quarto do meu filho trocar-lhe a fralda (tinha xixi) e quando regressávamos à sala reparei que ele parou e fez uma expressão, não de quem está com uma crise existencial, a pensar "o que faço aqui", mas mais uma expressão de crise intestinal e a pensar "faço mas é já aqui"! Ou seja, a fraldas que devem durar 12h, cá em casa duram 2 minutos!

Mas eu questiono-me como é que uma criança aguenta as mesmas fraldas 12h (se pensar-mos bem a voz off não especifica se as fraldas para durarem 12 horas têm que estar a ser usadas, por que se forem na embalagem de facto consigo que aguentem isso, mas não muito mais, porque à velocidade que se gastam...) Se calhar é para crianças que estejam a jejuar!

Eu sei o que estão a pensar "o que eles querem dizer é que as fraldas duram a noite toda!" OK mas se o meu filhote dormir 12h de seguida é certinho que de manhã está todo mijocado! A sério, o biberão da noite conforme entra também sai!! A diferença entre ele beber o biberão ou eu despejá-lo directamente na fralda, é só o tempo em que leva a acontecer!

Não digo que a culpa seja das fraldas, (o meu filho é que é rapaz que não retém nada que não valha a pena), mas gostava de saber se de facto alguém consegue que as fraldas durem 12h. É só uma dúvida que eu tenho!

In Portugal, the Dodot diaper ad promise that "it last 12 hours"! Yesterday I went to my son's room to change his diaper (it had pee) and when we were returning to the livingroom I noticed that he stopped and made ​​an expression, not of whom is with an existential crisis, wondering "what am I doing here", but more an expression of intestinal crisis and thinking "I am doing it, here!" So the diapers that should last 12 hours in my home last 2 minutes!
But I question myself how a child can handle the same diapers 12h (well the ad does not specify whether the diapers to last 12 hours have to be in used, if they are in fact on the packaging that can hold on that, but not much more, because with the speed he uses them ...) Maybe it's for kids who are fasting!
I know what you are thinking "what they mean is that the diapers will last all night!" OK but if my son sleeps 12 hours that means in the morning he is all wet! Seriously, the nigth milk bottle goes as it comes! The difference between him drinking it or I dumping it directly into the diaper, is just the time it takes to happen!
I do not say that is the diapers fault, (my son just don't keep nothing not worth it), but I wonder if in fact someone can make the diapers last 12 hours. It's just a question that I have!

Ano novo, nova crónica!

Nas horas que passo na net, a fazer pesquisa, encontro trabalhos espectaculares de "antes e depois", que devo dizer, contribuíram em muito para eu me envolver nesta aventura de reciclar móveis velhos. Ora estes trabalhos são tão maravilhosos e são uma inspiração para mim de tal maneira que tenho que os partilhar aqui no blog.

O primeiro trabalho que aqui vos mostro é da Think Contemporary, uma empresa de design de Dublin.

In the hours I spend on the web, doing research, I find the most stunning "before and after" works, which I must say, contributed very much for me to get involved in this adventure of upcycling old furniture. These works are so wonderful and are just an inspiration to me that I have to share them here, on the blog.
This first work is from Think Contemporary, a design firm from Dublin.

Resolução de ano novo! / New Year's Resolution!

Com a chegada de um novo ano é normal as pessoas fazerem resoluções para os doze meses que se aproximam. Eu nunca liguei nenhuma, para ser sincera, mas este ano fiz a minha primeira resolução de ano novo e é uma resolução que envolve a família toda (comigo é assim, logo a ser ambiciosa :D ). Pois bem a resolução para o ano novo é que vamos passar a andar todos nús. É verdade! Tudo ao laréu cá em casa! Uma casa de naturistas (temos é que ter as janelas fechadas!). Com a crise sempre a apertar mais, é dinheiro que se poupa. Com os aumentos de água e luz já anunciados para o próximo ano pensem só no dinheiro que se poupa com o facto de não se usar a máquina da roupa e o ferro de engomar! É só vantagens!!

E vocês podem dizer; ah e tal não é muito higiénico! Ai não que não é higiénico, com a pele a respirar muito melhor e à vontade! É só higiene! E até porque para ser totalmente sincera não é tudo, tudo ao léu, porque enquanto o meu filhote não aprender a ir ao bacio as fraldas são permitidas. Estão a ver como penso no lado higiénico da questão!

O único aspecto mais desfavorável é a rapa de frio que vamos passar, mas é só durante 3 ou 4 meses num ano e as pessoas mais velhas dizem que o frio enrija o corpo, pelo que estou a contar estar muita rijinha em breve!

É como vos digo vamos passar o próximo ano muito mais leves e à fresca!

Vou comunicar a minha decisão cá em casa e prevejo que seja muito bem aceite!

PS- Tomei esta resolução quando hoje de manhã quis vestir o meu filho e ele não tinha calças lavadas e passadas para vestir e me apercebi que já tenho outra pilha de roupa para lavar e passar a ferro!  :(

With the arrival of a new year is normal to make resolutions for the twelve months to come. I've never cared at all, to be honest, but this year I made my first New Year's resolution and is a resolution that involves the whole family (what can I say, I'm ambitious :D). Well the new year's resolution is that we will wear nothing at all!! We will be all naked! It's true! A naturist house  (we do have to close the windows!). With the economical crisis, it is a way to save money. With payment increases in water and electricity already announced for next year, just think of all the money that you save if you don´t use the washing machine and iron! It's only advantages!
And you might say; oh but this is not very hygienic! Oh no, it is hygienic, skin will breathe much better and be more comfortable! It's only hygiene! And also, to be totally honest is not everything, everything naked, because while my babyboy do not learn to go potty, diapers are allowed. So you see that I think on the hygiene question!
The worst aspect is the cold, but it is only for 3 or 4 months a year and older people say that cold toughen the body, so I'm counting to be tough very soon!
It's like I say, let's spend the next year much lighter and fresh!
I will communicate my decision here at home and expect it to be very well received!

PS- I made my resolution this morning when I wanted to dress my son and he hadn't washed and ironed pants to wear and I realized that I already have another pile of laundry and ironing to do! :(
