Este livro é um thriller inquietante sobre uma mulher que desaparece no dia do quinto aniversário de casada. A história é-nos contada pela perspectiva do marido e da esposa, os capítulos vão alternando entre os dois, o que nos permite conhecer as personagens e o seu estado de espírito. Será???

O livro está dividido em duas partes, e a primeira foi de longe a que gostei mais. Aqui desenvolve-se um thriller psicológico entre marido e mulher. Até que ponto conhecemos a pessoa com quem vivemos?

Gostei muito do facto do conflito de perspectivas para determinados acontecimentos.

Da segunda parte não gostei tanto. Para já porque existe uma reviravolta na história que eu adivinhei logo a meio da primeira parte (para mim era a única possibilidade que fazia sentido) e depois porque estava à espera de um intensificar do thriller psicológico que não aconteceu. E o final, senhores, eu detestei o final! Fiquei tão desiludida com o final! Parece que de repente a autora ficou sem tempo ou idéias para terminar o livro :(

Mas no geral acho que vale muito a pena a leitura. Se gostam de thrillers, livros policiais é um livro a ler, daqueles que não nos deixam dormir à noite sem acabar o capítulo, e depois mais outro e mais outro... até que nos deixamos de dormir de exaustão (uma noite foi o que me aconteceu, acordei com o livro contra o nariz na almofada).

Estava indecisa na classificação a dar, mas considerando a primeira parte do livro e a caracterização psicológica das personagens, que está espectacularmente bem feita, dou-lhe 7/10.

The book is divided into two parts, and the first was by far the one I liked most. Here it's developed a psychological thriller between husband and wife. How well do you know the person you share your life with?

I really liked the conflict of perspectives for certain events.
The second part I didn't like so much. There is a twist in the story but I guessed it  in the middle of the first part (for me it was the only way for the story to work) and then because I was waiting for a step up in the psychological thriller that didn't happen. And the end, geezz, I hated the ending! I was so disappointed with the ending! It seems that the author runned out of time and ideas! : (
But overall I think it is well worth reading. If you like thrillers, crime novels is a book to read, the kind who don't let us sleep at night without finishing the chapter, and then another and another ... until we fall asleep exhaust (one night was what happened to me, I woke up with the book against my nose on the pillow).
I was hesitant on the classification, but considering the book's first part and psychological characterization of the characters, which is spectacularly well done, I give it 7/10.
