O Natal é também época de sensibilização para causas, instituições, fundações para os mais diversos fins e propósitos. À poucos dias fiquei a conhecer uma organização com um objectivo que eu deconhecia completamente. E a verdade é que fiquei tão estupefacta que decidi partilhar aqui no blog!
A associação britânica EDGE - Evolutionarily Distinct & Globally Endangered (evolutivamente diferentes e globalmente ameaçados) tem como objectivo proteger as espécies raras feias e estranhas! Isso mesmo, eles querem proteger os animais feios, porque para salvar animais amorosos e fofos existem organizações com fartura (os pandas por exemplo), mas ao que parece ninguém quer saber dos feiotes (nalguns casos feiotes é eufemismo).
Eu estive no site deles, (deixo-vos aqui algumas fotos dos animais que eles tentam proteger), e de facto nós olhamos para eles e não nos dá vontade de os abraçar, e dar beijinhos e levar para casa. Irra!! Coitados, é que são mesmo feios nas horas!!
Mas a verdade é que o mundo não é só dos bonitos e apesar do aspecto repugnante todas as espécies têm um papel importante no ecosistema. Portanto vamos a passar palavra e ajudar os feiotes!!

That's right, they want to protect ugly animals, because to save loving and cute animals exist organizations in abundance (eg pandas), but it seems no one cares about the ugly ones (in some cases ugly is euphemism).
I've been on their website, (I show you some pictures of the animals they are trying to protect), and in fact I look at them and I don't want to hug them, kiss them and take them home. They are really ugly!
But the truth is that the world is not only for the beautiful and despite the disgusting aspect of some species they all play an important role in the ecosystem. So let's spread the word and help the strangest!

Este último exemplar encontrei-o na net, aparece em qualquer lista dos animais mais feios do mundo, e curiosamente não está no site do EDGE (coitado, nem o EDGE o salva)!
This last specimen I found it on the net, appears on any list of the world's ugliest animals, and curiously is not on the EDGE site (not even EDGE saves it)!
